Screen Printing Workshops
In these 3 hour workshops held in my home, you’ll create your own design and your own silkscreen, DIY style. No fancy equipment here. And once you’ve made your screen, you’ll use it to print all the things.
I’ll have everything you need to make your screen and print your design there for you, including some scrap fabric and one blank item of your choice to print (I usually keep t-shirts, pillow covers, and pairs of placemats on-hand). You’re welcome to bring more blank items with you or buy more from me at $10 each.
I’ll also have some snacks available. Snack are critical for optimal printing results.
Screen printing workshops are $85 per person which includes one blank item for printing.
For these small group sessions, I’m inviting you into my cozy Woodfield apartment & studio. You’ll see first-hand the simple, DIY set up I’ve used from the beginning and get a glimpse into my day-to-day.
Our apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a 3-story home so there will be some stairs involved. If you’re not able to do stairs but you’re interested in a workshop, please email me at email@example.com and I will add you to a waiting list for workshops at accessible locations.
Bringing extra things to print
Shop your closet for t-shirts, jean jackets, jeans, dresses and bring along as many as you like. It’s the umph your wardrobe’s been waiting for. Or if you’re feeling community-y, hit the racks at your local Goodwill store. Goodwill is a nonprofit that helps people find work… it’s very good, indeed.
Avoid fabrics that are:
X super stretchy
X super thin
X have a raised texture
It’s not that you can’t print on those fabrics, it’ll just make things a little trickier and it’s hard to know how well they’ll stand up when you wash them. But if you’re an I’ll-take-my-chances kind of person, bring along whatever you want. I’m game.
