Screenprinting Workshops

Learn the whole screenprinting process from start to finish. In these 5 hr workshops held in my home, you’ll create your own image and your own silkscreen, DIY style. And once you’ve made your screen, you’ll use it to print all the things.

You can make THE BEST gifts, decor for your home that everyone will ask about, your own band merch, a super-cute bandana for your dog, t-shirts with your art on it. Screenprinting is a creative, affordable way to make all the things.

I’ll have lots of fabric on-hand for practice, and you can bring as many items of your own to print as you want. Shop your closet or scavenge a few pillows and tea towels from your house or maybe do a little thrifting. Once you start printing, you won’t want to stop.

Snuggles from my sweet dog Skye are also included. She likes to keep us company while we print. If you prefer a dog-free experience, email carolyn@meandc.ca and I’ll add you to a waitlist for workshops at other locations.

And of course, there will be snacks. Snacks are key for optimal printing results.

Cost

Screenprinting workshops are $160 + HST per person.

You can book private events for you and your friends/family/co-workers at no extra cost. Email carolyn@meandc.ca.

Location

For these small group sessions, I’m inviting you into my cozy Woodfield apartment & studio. You’ll see first-hand the simple, DIY set up I’ve used from the beginning.

My apartment is on the 2nd floor of a 3-story home so there will be some stairs involved. Also, my sweet dog Skye likes to keep us company while we print.

If you’re not able to do stairs or prefer a dog-free experience, please email me at carolyn@meandc.ca and I’ll add you to a waitlist for workshops at other locations.

Bringing things to print

There’s no limit to the number of items you can bring with you. Shop your closet for t-shirts, jean jackets, jeans, dresses and bring along as many as you want. It’s the umph your wardrobe’s been waiting for. Or if you’re feeling community-y, hit the racks at your local Goodwill store. Goodwill is a nonprofit that helps people find work… it’s very good, indeed.

Avoid fabrics that are:

X super stretchy
X super thin
X have a raised texture

It’s not that you can’t print on those fabrics, it’ll just make things a little trickier and it’s hard to know how well they’ll stand up when you wash them. But if you’re an I’ll-take-my-chances kind of person, bring along whatever you want. I’m game.
